DR LENARD TRELAINE is a blood mage capable of modifying the body systems to suit his own curiosities. He was trained by a foreign power and migrated to the United States in the early days of the country's formation.

Long ago, he and Vladislaus Straud were friends, but their differing ideologies have forced them to become bitter rivals.

The Doctor is aligned tightly with the NSR, finding a close association with Trente Gagarin, both of them having little pity for the inhabitants of Earth.
