Cassandra --

We returned from investigating the Manor.

CASSANDRA//

...What happened?

KEVIN//

Your home had been invaded.

There was a skirmish.

CASSANDRA//

Oh no. Are you okay?

... your friends.

Are your friends okay?

KEVIN//

My friends and I are OK. I got a little scratched up and one of my friends was hurt by the creature we fought, but she's going to be OK with some time and rest.

CASSANDRA//

What did you fight?

KEVIN//

From appearance alone, it seemed to be a semi-feral vampress. She had fangs, speed, strength, nocturnal habits... all the traditional marks of one of our kind.

But she claims the name of a goddess.

And my father seemed to recognize her.

CASSANDRA//

Your father...?

KEVIN//

It's a long story but...

My father is like a ghost, of sorts.

He is always with me. I have access to his memories. It's piecemeal but I am able to consult with him.

CASSANDRA//

That sounds useful.

KEVIN//

He was a very aged and well-traveled vampire.

If he says he recognizes the face of a goddess, then I am sure he is right.

CASSANDRA//

Why would a goddess be hiding out in my parents' home?

KEVIN//

Apparently some of the old powers derive their strength from received worship.

I saw a number of your father's papers... Could he have something to do with this?

CASSANDRA//

I don't see what my father could have to do with a goddess...

KEVIN//

She's Bharatiya, if that helps.

CASSANDRA//

Well I think for a while he was trying to learn how to read Sanskrit.

I can't say I really know much about it. Alexander might know more.
